At the 2026 CMAS Asian Championship Finswimming Indoor Juniors which concluded in China, four Quang Ninh athletes delivered outstanding performances to win a total of 12 medals, including six gold, four silver and two bronze medals. This achievement significantly contributed to the Vietnamese team securing first place overall.
This year's competition was held at the Hai'an Sports Center Swimming Pool in Nantong City, China. The event brought together young athletes from nine Asian countries, competing in two age groups: 14-15 and 16-17.
At the competition, the athletes from Quang Ninh province competed with great effort. Notably, Nguyen Thi Thanh Thi stood out with 6 medals. She won 2 individual gold medals in the 200m and 400m finswimming events, 1 individual bronze medal, and together with her teammates, won 3 gold medals in the 4x50m, 4x100m, and 4x200m relays.
Dang Thi Tam contributed two gold medals, including a gold medal in the women's 50m finswimming event and a gold medal in the 4x50m relay. In the 50m final, Tam achieved a time of 19.20 seconds. In the women's 4x50m finswimming relay, the Vietnamese team won the gold medal in 1 minute 16.33 seconds.
Trieu Thi Uyen also made her mark in team events, winning gold medals with the Vietnamese team in the 4x100m and the 4x200m finswimming relays. The Vietnamese team finished first in the 4x200m relay with a time of 6 minutes 37 seconds 30, 5 seconds 35 faster than the host team China.
The achievements of the Quang Ninh athletes further affirm the quality of the city's youth athlete training, while also making a positive contribution to the overall success of the Vietnamese diving team.
