On Mar. 16, in Ha Long city, QNPPC held a meeting with SunGroup and relevant provincial departments and Van Don District regarding the commencement of the construction work ofthe Quang Ninh Airport project. Accordingly, Quang Ninh Airport construction will be kicked off on March 27, 2015 under the investment form of BOT.
Speaking at the meeting, QNPPC's Vice Chairman Nguyen Van Thanh strongly affirmed that the Quang Ninh Airport is a highlight of the Van Don Economic Zone that helps to boost the development and attract investment into the province. Thanh therefore requested revelant sectors and departments to have good preparation ensuring that the inauguration ceremony will be well-organized.
The airport will be built on 248.6ha in Van Don Island District's Economic Zone, with an estimated investment capital of VND 7.49 trillion ($351.8 million).
