QNPPC works with Korean investors on Van Don airport project.

On Nov. 9, in Ha Long city, Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee had a meeting with the Korean Airport Corporation and Joinus Company Ltd regarding the project on construction of the Van Don International Airport. Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, vice-chairman of QNPPC worked with the delegation.

Van Don airport is planned to be buit in Doan Ket commune (Van Don) covering an area of nearly 400ha with estimated total investment capital of almost USD 2 billion. Under its design, the airport will be constructed with advanced and environmental friendly technology. The project is divided into three stages and the first stage is expected to be completed by 2013.

At the meeting, the provincial functional authorities, departments and sectors, representatives of Van Don island district people’s committee and Korean investors have discussed about the  issues related to the project, especially when the airport is in operation, such as investment incentives, preferential policies; facilities; tax incentives; power supply for the airport; administrative procedures;  the clients’ needs.

Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh confirmed that according to the planning of the province, Van Don airport will be located in the key economic development triangle of Hanoi - Hai Phong - Quang Ninh. In the future, Van Don will be a dynamic development place of tourism and services ...Therefore, travel needs of clients by air will increase. Quang Ninh will offer the best facilities, convenient administrative procedures during the project construction and when the airport is in operation. 

On behalf of the investors, Mr. Do Lien Han, general director of Joinus Company Ltd sincerely thanked to QNPPC for the cordial reception and information about the projects in which they are interested. At the same time, he also confirmed that the investors will rapidly complete the feasibility report on this investment and send to QNPPC at their earliest convenience.
