On Nov. 23, QNPPC had a meeting with advisory body – the BCG Corporation on building Quang Ninh’s master strategy for socio-economic development. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, vice-chairman of QNPPC and attended by Member of Central Party Committee, the Provincial Party Secretary – Mr. Pham Minh Chinh.
At the meeting, representative of the advisory body has provided a number of approaching methods and experiences in building development strategies for tourism, fishery, minerals, and seaports in many countries around the world that have some common features with Quang Ninh province. The representative also confirmed that if they are selected as the advisory body, they will implement this project within 16 weeks with the support of a team of the leading experts of the Corporation and experienced-collaborators in Vietnam...
Speaking at the working session, Mr. Pham Minh Chinh acknowledged that the advisory body has spent much time on researching to involve in building the strategy. He said that QNPPC will adequately provide the consultants with necessary information so that they could have further understanding about Quang Ninh. He also emphasized that Quang Ninh province needs to have a master development planning that fits potentials and strengths of the province. In the short term, Quang Ninh will focus on building development strategy till 2015 and in a vision of 2020; and strategy for socio-economic development of 3 cities including Mong Cai, Ha Long, Uong Bi
To conclude the meeting, Mr Nguyen Van Thanh recommended that the advisory body needs to further research and adequately approach information. He stressed that the final strategy must be the best-quality and high-possibility one.
