Quang Ninh province’s leaders on March 9-10 had a meeting with foreign investors who come from the U.S and Thailand.
The provincial leaders have worked with Mr. Chatree Thongmark, assistant of Chairman of the Board of Italian Group (Thailand). This is -one of the leading Groups of Thailand who is running investment projects in 40 countries in the world. It is also one of the first groups seeking for investment opportunities in Quang Ninh after the Investment Promotion Conference 2012.
At the working session, Vice-Chairman of QNPPC introduced to the Group about potentials, advantages and particular the areas for which Quang Ninh is calling investment from foreign businesses, such as the Recreation Complex in Van Don district, seaports, accommodation for low-income people, etc. He emphasized that Quang Ninh offers incentive policies to support foreign investors, especially the Thai investors aiming at strengthening cooperative relationship between the two countries. For his part, Chatree Thongmark believed in successful investment opportunities in Vietnam in general and Quang Ninh in particular. He wished to invest in the field of tourism, infrastructure construction of airports, seaports, highways…especially Ha Long-Mong Cai highway project.
Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Pham Minh Chinh, the Provincial Party Committee Secretary highly appreciated Chatree Thongmark and his entourage for their interest in exploring investment opportunities in Quang Ninh. At the same time, he introduced with a greater emphasis on some of the specific projects for which Quang Ninh is calling investment, namely van Don airport, Ha Long-Mong Cai highway and promised that the PPC will hand over clear land to the Group if they invest in the projects within the province.
The American investors are particularly interested in investment projects, namely the Recreation Complex in Van Don district, accommodation boats on Ha Long Bay, petroleum, seaports, hi-quality education and training units…They committed to bring the leading enterprises of the U.S to invest in Quang Ninh, ensuring adequate investment capital. At the same time, they also wished to be provided with particular incentive policies by Vietnamese Government as well as the QNPPC when they invest in Van Don EZ.
Working with the U.S counterparts led by Billy, spokesman for the Secretary of the Treasury and President of the Cerberus Capital Management Fund, Quang Ninh Provincial Party Secretary Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated that the American investors have come back to Quang Ninh to work with the PPC after the Investment Promotion Conference 2012. Chinh hoped that it will be a good start for a long-lasting cooperation and long-term investment of the American investors in Quang Ninh province. He specifically emphasized on the projects that can be immediately implemented, including Hai Ha seaport, resort hotel on Ha Long Bay, leading international university, and the establishment of the Investment Fund in Quang Ninh.
The leader of Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee confirmed that Quang Ninh is eager to coordinate with the American investors to solve all problems relevant to administrative procedures , legislative policies, land fund, and incentive policies of the Vietnamese government…
