Provincial leaders examine the construction of a deep-seaport

On Nov. 23, the provincial leaders including Mr. Pham Minh Chinh, member of Central Party Committee, Secretary of Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Do Thong, standing vice-chairman of QNPPC and leaders of relevant departments and sectors have undertaken field-surveys some locations within Cam Pha town and Hai Ha district to examine  the construction of a deep-sea port.

Previously, on Jan. 24, Office of the Government had a written guidance on the investment  of the deep-sea port project at Hon Mieu and Cai Chien islands, Hai Ha district and requested QNPPC to collaborate with other relevant sectors and departments to implement the project in compliance with regulations of the PPP investment.

After listening to the ideas of the factory’s leaders and undertaking field surveys  at  some locations, Mr. Pham Minh Chinh and Mr. Do Thong  highly appreciated the idea of building deep-seaport proposed by the factory.

The provincial leaders directed functional sectors to collaborate with Quang Trung Mechanical Enterprise specializing in manufacturing lifting and lowering equipments (in Uong Bi city) to continue to research and examine construction and designing solutions for  the deep-seaport, creating impetus for promoting  commercial activities of the open economic zones and economic corridors in the North of Vietnam. They also noted that the  construction and designing solutions of this project need to avoid negative impacts on the environment and landscape of the Ha Long Bay Natural Wonder.
