Amid complicated development of Covid-19, import and export activities at border gates are stable along with strictly following regulations on Covid-19 prevention and control.
At Hoanh Mo Border Gate in Binh Lieu District, imports and exports have witnessed a slight increase. Since July, 311 customs declarations have been made via Vietnam Automated Cargo And Port Consolidated System and Vietnam Customs Intelligence Information System VNACCS/VCIS with turnover of 8.3 million USD, an increase of 17.8% in customs declarations and 18,28% in turnover over the previous month. In YTD accumulation, 1,610 import and export declarations have been made with total turnover of 52,5 million USD, an increase of 18.64 and 1.32% in declarations and import-export turnover respectively over the same period last year.
Smuggling and illegal commodity transportation via border line as well as goods transportation without certificates of origin within the border gate area has been basically controlled.
Since the end of July, there have been complicated Covid-19 transmission cases in the community. Therefore, Hoanh Mo Border Gate Customs has given priority to drastically implement urgent measures against the disease while fulfilling dual targets of protecting local people’s health and developing local economy.
Meanwhile, at Bac Luan Bridge No. 2 Border Gate in Mong Cai City, since the resume of customs clearance, more than 6,450 tons of commodities have undertaken import and export procedures despite Covid-19, of which 420 tons of exports and 6,030 tons of imports. The imported and exported cargo via the pontoon bridge has reached 181,600 tons, an increase of 167% over the same period of 2019.
