On Jan. 1, 2012, at Cai Lan Port, MTV Quang Ninh Port Ltd. Co. has held a ceremony to load goods at the beginning of the year of 2012. The ceremony was attended by Mr. Nguyen Van Doc, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Chairman of QNPPC; Mr. Nguyen Duc Long, Chairman of Quang Ninh People’s Council and leaders of Ha Long city People’s Committee, representatives from provincial departments and sectors and Vietnam National Shipping Lines.
At 10.30, the first tons of goods in the year of 2012 that have been recognized were loaded onto the container ship 2,300 TEU named SAYLE MOONRICKMERS (under the MSC).
On Jan. 1, 2012, apart from the SAYLE MOONRICKMERS container ship, ANNA container ship also loaded 36,000 tons of cement; the PRINCE OF LATR loaded 35,000 tons of woodchips; the DOJING loaded 8,200 tons of macadam for export.
In 2012, Quang Ninh port plans to meet its target with the total capacity of 7.5 million tons, and to expectably reach a revenue of over VND 260 billion.
In 2011, the total capacity of various kinds of goods through the port gained more than 6.8 million tons, up 17% in comparison to 2010. The revenue attained over VND 245 billion, seeing a rise of nearly 27% compared to 2010 with a profit of VND 8 billion, up to 122% over the same period of 2010.
