On Sep. 5th, in Ha Long city, QNPPC had a meeting with the Int’l Education Group SEGI (Malaysia) and the Advanced International Corporation (AIC) to provide comments on the investment project on building International University in the province. The meeting was chaired by Chairman of QNPPC Nguyen Van Doc and attended by Vice-Chairwoman Vu Thi Thu Thuy, along with other leaders of the provincial relevant departments.
At the meeting, representative of the AIC made a brief report on the project to build the International University on Quang Ninh. Accordingly, the investors include the AIC based in Vietnam and the Int’l Education Group SEGI (Malaysia).This will be a university that trains students in the areas of electronic, chemicals, IT, tourism, accounting, etc. The project has the total investment capital of about VND 1,000 bln sourced from the Segi and AIC, and other partners. The university will be located in Dai Yen Ward, Ha Long City and at the Quang Ninh Center of Permanent Education and Training. When it is in operation, it is expected to be a center to train a hi-quality human resource, an institution for researching science, technology, culture and education.
To conclude the meeting, Mr. Nguyen Van Doc strongly agreed with the draft of the project presented at the meeting by the AIC. He requested both Segi and AIC Groups to draw the project to establish the university to be reported to the Government by September 15th, 2012. The Chairman of the QNPPC Nguyen Van Doc also directed the two investors to collaborate with provincial relevant departments and sectors to decide location, complete necessary procedures so that the project will be soon implemented.
