Korean Ambassador in Vietnam visits Quang Ninh

On Dec. 11, in Ha Long city, Secretary of Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee Pham Minh Chinh had a meeting with a delegation of Embassy of the Republic of Korea in Vietnam led by Mr. Oh Nak Young-Vice Ambassador and Consulate General. The discussion was about current state of socio-economic development of Quang Ninh and potential investment opportunities. The meeting was also attended by Vice- Chairmen of QNPPC Nguyen Van Thanh and Do Thong.

At the reception, Secretary Pham Minh Chinh expressed his pleasure to welcome the delegation to Quang Ninh. He then introduced the delegation a snapshot of Quang Ninh’s geography, natural conditions and socio-economic development as well as its potentials and advantages. Mr. Pham Minh Chinh stressed that Quang Ninh has much focusing on investment promotion by offering various incentives. However the investment from Korean is still limited. Thus, he hoped that the Ambassador would assist Quang Ninh in building the investment promotion programs and website, especially to attract the investment from the Republic of Korea in Van Don airport project.

Also at the meeting, Chinh directed Quang Ninh Investment Promotion Agency (IPA) and Quang Ninh Department of Industry and Trade to collaborate with the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in organizing trade promotion conference at earliest convinience to attract Korean investors to the province.

On behalf of the his delegation, Mr. Oh Nak Young sincerely thanked Quang Ninh’s leaders for their warm reception. He also answered all questions related to the projects on tourism and service development; the construction of Mong Duong Thermo-power plant, and ODA capital for agricultural development in Dong Trieu district...

Mr. Oh Nak Young was impressed of Quang Ninh’s potentials and advantages. He wished that the cooperation between the two sides would be further developed in the future. On this occasion, Mr. Oh Nak Young has presented gifts to the Quang Ninh local people suffering from Haiyan typhoon.
