Hanoi prioritises foreign investment in four fields

The Hanoi People’s Committee reported it had directed the city department of planning and investment to make a list of projects that need investment in 2012.

The priority for foreign investment in 2012 is in four fields. One project will be the building of a modern hospital, another priority being the construction of a high-quality University. Furthermore an Industrial zone, among nine approved by the Prime Minister and one or two vocational schools finish out the list of prioritised projects.

The department of planning and investment was entrusted with the task of researching and proposing specific mechanisms pertaining to projects attracting foreign investment to ensure the selection of the right investors.

Together with the directives, Hanoi is establishing new regulations on investment management in the city, including regulations on projects which are in need of foreign investment. The new regulation will be promulgated in the first phase of 2012.
