Ensuring OCOP product quality at the fairs

Fair is one of the effective ways to advertise OCOP products, connect commodities with consumers, and expand consumption markets. Thus, the quality of OCOP products sold at the fairs must be strictly tested so that they could meet requirements of safety and hygiene before being adopted by consumers.

Along with the OCOP product quality, the review of packaging designs and labels is also paid with much concerns and thoroughly done.

Recently, Quang Ninh Industry and Trade Department organized the Quang Ninh OCOP Promotion Week 2019 at the Big C Trade Center (Ha Long City) with the participation of 35 booths and nearly 250 typical goods of OCOP enterprises and cooperatives from 14 localities in the province.

According to Mr. Dinh Ba Trinh, Head of OCOP Operations Division (under the Department of the Provincial Rural Construction), economic organizations participating in the OCOP Program has made much achievements. They were consulted and instructed how to improve their products based on the evaluation and ranking criteria.

In addition to giving instruction to enterprises and cooperatives to meet the criteria, management bodies have also actively undertaken many re-product inspections, and organized OCOP product quality evaluation competitions. Currently, they are preparing for the fair in the North - Quang Ninh 2019 which is planned to be held on September 2.

Along with the OCOP product quality, the review of packaging designs and labels is also paid with much concerns and thoroughly done. As of May 2019, 385 products have been reviewed, of which 191 products have been kept unchanged; 38 products have been redesigned.

It can be seen that enterprises and management agencies have attached great importance to ensuring food hygiene and safety of the OCOP products, thereby not only attracting consumers but also contributing to expanding domestic and foreign consumption markets for OCOP products.
