The Provincial People’s Committee of Quang Ninh held a meeting on may 9 in Ha Long city to review and evaluate the proposal of 1/500 scaled planning of the project in the subdivisions 2 and 3 of Cai Rong urban area, in Van Don district.
According to the Doji group’s proposal, the subdivisions 2 and 3 of Cai Rong urban area in Van Don district covers an area of nearly 200ha. The planning ensures the principles of traffic connection in line with the current situation, ensuring the natural ecological environment, creating high-class coastal tourism services and facilities, prioritizing the development of public services and forming modern tram routes.
At the meeting, representatives of relevant departments and sectors raised their comments on the proposal and suggested adjustment to the planning to better fit the construction planning of Van Don EZ.
Concluding the meeting, Vice Chairman Nguyen Van Thang highly appreciated Doji Group’s and support and cooperation with Quang Ninh to proppose the planning idea, and said that the planning proposal has taken advantage of potential for regional development.
He also noted that the master plan on Van Don's socio-economic development has been approved by the Prime Minister, but no detailed adjustment has been made so far to the detail planning, so functional areas have not been clarified yet. Therefore, the planning proposal of the subdivision 2 and 3 of Cai Rong Urban Area needs to be amended and for long-term orientation, the development of services and tourism should be prioritized to ensure the mutual benefits of the State, investors and people.
The Vice Chairman proposed consultant unit to consider opinions and suggestions raised by provincial departments and sectors to fulfill the proposal in accordance with the development orientation of the Van Don EZ. He also stressed that the planning proposal needs to ensure traffic connection in line with adjusting the construction planning. Car parks, water drainage system, waste water treatment system need to be added into the planning.
