Ha Long city, Oct. 18 - Vice-Chairman of QNPPC – Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh has welcomed delegation of mayors of cities and provinces of the Republic of Finland to Quang Ninh. The delegation was led by Mr. Asko Peltola who is mayor of South Ostrobothnia Region, President of the Council of Mayors of the Republic of Finland.
At the reception, Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh has introduced to the delegation an overview of socio-economic situation of Quang Ninh province. He wished that the relationship of Finland with Vietnam in general and Quang Ninh in particular would be further developed.
On behalf of the delegation, Mr Asko Peltola thanked the leaders of Quang Ninh for their cordial reception. He also introduced to the vice-chairman of QNPPC a snap-shot covering geography, organization structure of the government, and socio-economic situation of the Republic of Finland. He also hoped that the relationship between the two countries would be increasingly strengthened.
Mr vice-chairman of QNPPC hoped that through this visit, mayors of the Finnish cities and provinces will vote for Ha Long Bay and mobilize their people to vote for the Bay as one of seven natural wonders of the world.
