According to information released by Hoanh Mo Border Gate's Customs Branch, from Feb 26, cargo clearance at the Hoanh Mo (Binh Lieu, Quang Ninh, Vietnam) – Dong Zhong (Fengcheng, Guangxi, China) border residential markets officially resumed after a pause due to the effects of coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
This was one of the important results achieved at the talk between Binh Lieu district’s People’s Committee and Fengcheng People’s Government at Dong Zhong town, Fengcheng, Guangxi, China on Feb 24, aiming at seeking support solutions to facilitate import-export activities and ensure COVID-19 prevention and control. The categories of goods that receive customs clearance initially are seafood, agricultural and forestry products etc. and then will be expanded after the stable operation of customs clearance.
According to statistics, from Jan 1 to Feb 25, total import - export turnover through Hoanh Mo Border Gate reached 3.89 mil. USD, a 58% year-on-year decrease, state budget collection gained about 9 bil. VND, representing a year-on-year decrease of 36%.
