The Vice Chairman of Quang Ninh PPC Vu Thi Thu Thuy on June 11 chaired a meeting to listen to the America-based Boston Consulting Group (BCG)’s idea for the overall plan on developing Quang Ninh tourism section till 2020 with a vision to 2030.

Some typical consulting projects are as follows: identifying France’s top destinations till 2020, setting up the plan on developing Spain’s tourism industry till 2020, setting up Chilean tourism development strategy, etc.
In Vietnam, the Group has provided consulting services to 17 Vietnam’s leading banks and enterprises for 10 years.
The representative of the BCG Group said that Quang Ninh tourism sector has enormous potential for growth; however, most of visitors to Quang Ninh are short-term one which results in low economic efficiency. Thus, in order to create a trademark for Quang Ninh tourism, the consultant suggested that the province should pay more attention to identifying customers, giving priority to supplementary infrastructure construction, improve the quality of transport system and accommodations.
Speaking at the meeting, the Vice Chairman Vu Thi Thu Thuy asked BCG to continue doing research and supply information related to planning, project feasibility, etc.
She also directed the Department of Culture Sports and Tourism to work with other consultancy enterprises to choose the best option./.
