Thailand’s Amata group held the groundbreaking ceremony on Dec 21 in Quang Yen town to kick off the implementation of the Construction and Infrastructure project of Song Khoai Industrial Park.
Covering an area of 714 ha, implementation of this project will be divided into five phases with the total investment capital of VND3.5 trillion (about US$155.59 million) with the duration of 50 years. It is expected to creat jobs for 35,000 local people when it is completed.
As planed, the first phase with an area of 123ha will be put into operation by the end of 2019. It aims to invest in infrastructure construction and allure secondary investors. It will prioritize processing industry, hi-tech industry, biology industry, etc. This is the first infrastructure project of Thailand implemeted in Quang Ninh, and also Amata’s first project in the northern part of Vietnam.
Representative leader of the Amata group thanked Vietnam government in general and Quang Ninh leaders and people in particular for their kind support. He stressed that Quang Ninh is an ideal place for the development of investors. He wished that the province would continue to support and accompany Amata during their investment in the provinces.
“The Song Khoai IP offers good chances not only for Quang Yen town to develop in accordance with its general planning but also for Quang Ninh to foster the development of its potential localities”, he added.
Speaking at the ceremony, Quang Ninh’s Chairman Nguyen Duc Long highly appreciated the Amata group’s determination so that the project could be kicked off as planned. He also hailed the support of Quang Yen’s authorities and people for the investor.
Chairman Nguyen Duc Long asked the Quang Ninh Economic Zone Management Board, the People’s Committee of Quang Yen town as well as other relevant provincial departments to actively accompany the investor and facilitate them with the best conditions in order to as soon as possible fulfil all the neccessary legalprocedures for construction of the project’s components so that the project could be soon put in to use.
He also requested the Amata group to conduct the project in compliance with the Vietnamses laws, ensuring waste treatment measures, environment protection, safety and fire prevention and fighting during their implementation.
