Under the project on Technical Cooperation in environmental protection of Ha Long Bay implemented by Quang Ninh province and Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA), a conference on tourism and the pilot performance of bio-fuel project has been held on Dec. 7 by JICA project unit based in Quang Ninh.
At the conference, participants had the chance to listen to the introduction of waste recycling system of Indochina Junk JSC; the report on the results of waste survey, and the presentation of the bio-fuel project. Accordingly, under this bio-fuel project, waste on Ha Long Bay will be collected by the boats using bio-fuel. This waste will be then treated in the mainland or recycled into fuel providing for tourist boats.
Also at the conference, JICA has conducted a pilot test on a power generator using bio-fuel. The result of this test showed that the generator worked well and environmental friendly, notably with low smoke emission.
