On Oct 25th, in Ha Long City, Quang Ninh hosted the 9th conference on economic corridor cooperation between Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Ha Noi, and Lao Cai (Vietnam) with Yunnan(China). The conference attracted the participation of more than 250 delegates and 130 representative enterprises from both countries.
The event aims to review the implementation of previous conference’s cooperation MOU, achievements and difficulties during the implementation; reach agreement on effective and practical contents; put forwards specific steps and suitable solutions to further boost cooperation among provinces and cities; and build Kunming – Lao Cai – Ha Noi – Hai Phong – Quang Ninh economic corridor as an effective development model between Vietnam and China.
Basing on discussions at the meeting, leaders from provinces and cities signed the 9th conference’s MOU which specifies the enhancement in friendship exchange; transportation connection, cooperation expansion in trade investment, tourism, education, health care; cooperation promotion in currency and insurance; border logistic development; agricultural development.
Representatives from Ha Long City (Quang Ninh) and Lijiang City (Yunnan) signed the Letter of Intent LOI on establishing friendship tie.
Founded in 2004, the economic corridor cooperation mechanism between Vietnam’s Quang Ninh, Hai Phong, Ha Noi, and Lao Cai with China’s Yunnan has proved effective in bolstering collaboration in the fields of friendship exchange, transportation connection, trade and tourism.
