Striker Vu Minh Tuan of Quang Ninh Coal made a suprise at the award ceremony held in HCM City, winning his Bronze Ball for 2016, as a big present to his family and fans.
“I want to thank the leaders of the Viet Nam Football Federation, Quang Ninh Coal and all fans who strongly supported me in practicing and competing during the whole year. I promise to contribute my best to national football team and my club,” Tuan said in his acceptance speech.
Tuan had a highly successful year in 2016 with his national team. He was also one of key players for Quang Ninh Coal as they won the Super National Cup title and came in fourth at the V.League 2016.
The Golden Ball for the male player went to Pham Thanh Luong Ha Noi FC while young midfielder Luong Xuan Truong of Incheon United bagged the silver. Truong was also voted as the most favourite player of 2016.
