Cuisine to heat up Quang Ninh’s tourism season

Cuisine is emerging as a bridge to connect festivals, culture and nighttime experience, helping to create a vibrant autumn-winter tourism season across Quang Ninh.

The food festival, refreshed with a new approach while building on its established brand, is expected to become a popular gathering place for visitors.

The year-end series of attractions will kick off with the Quang Ninh Culinary Festival 2026, scheduled to take place in the fourth quarter of the year in Bai Chay Ward. The event is expected to be held alongside the bustling VuiFest night market, featuring around 200 domestic and international stalls. The event will display Quang Ninh’s seafood specialties, regional delicacies to flavors from around the world, the festival promises a diverse culinary experience by the Bay and will extend visitors’ experiences at the destination.

These experiences will be complemented by a series of nighttime activities from August to December in Bai Chay Ward, including VuiFest combines retails, cuisine and street performance; Halo Bay Show creates a visual spectacle of sound, light and water along Hoang Quoc Viet Street and regular fireworks enliven the night in Ha Long. After exploring the bay, visitors will still have plenty of options for dining, entertainment and leisure.

From Bai Chay nighttime, the journey will continue with Quang Ninh, Viet Nam-Guangxi, China Culture, Arts, Tourism and Culinary event, scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2026 in Ha Long Ward. The program will feature artistic performances as well as tourism, trade and cuisine stalls. With a strong cross-border exchange theme, the event will use cuisine as a bridge to showcase culture, products and travel experiences, helping promote the destinations to Chinese’s visitors.

A diverse range of activities and distinctive culinary programmes are among the attractions drawing visitors to Quang Ninh at the end of the year.

The series will continue with the 2026 “Color of Autumn” Quang Ninh Regional Specialties Exhibition is also scheduled for the fourth quarter in the Quang Ninh Planning, Fair and Exhibition palace. While the festival focuses primarily on the dining experience, the exhibition will emphasize local specialties as gifts for visitors. OCOP products, agricultural products, processed foods and regional specialties are brought together, giving visitors better understanding of local ingredients and the areas where they are produce.

The experience will extend beyond the city center to the Yen Tu Autumn Festival, scheduled for the fourth quarter in Yen Tu Ward, where natural scenery, heritage, spiritual culture and local specialties will come together. Visitors will be able to explore the autumn landscapes of the sacred land and learn more local cultural heritage and savour the flavors of the Dong Trieu – Yen Tu area.

From the heritage area, the journey will continue to Binh Lieu Then Festival, scheduled for the fourth quarter in Binh Lieu Commune. In this festival, the traditional Then Music, Tay ethnic culture and the seasonal landscapes of silver grass and rice fields will provide a backdrop for the local culinary experience. The dishes and agricultural products made by local communities will not only serve visitors but also tell stories about the land and people of Binh Lieu.

Through this series of experiences, cuisine serves both create as reason for the visitors to come and as a means of encouraging longer stay and greater spending. With food quality, prices and linkages among tourism services are well ensured, every local flavor can help make Quang Ninh’s autumn-winter tourism season more vibrant and distinctive.
