Ba Che, one of the districts of Quang Ninh province, has gradually become popular to visitors, attracted by a wide range of festivals, such as Mieu Ong Mieu Ba Temple, Da Village temple, and Yellow Flower Tea, etc. One of the attractions in Ba Che is Ba Che village market, which promises to be a unique stop for tourists once coming to this district.
Located in the center of Ba Che district, Ba Che market was built a long time ago. To the North, it is adjacent to Ba Che river; to the West, it is next to Cau Ngam bridge while its main gate is located in the South, on Hai Chi street, the most spacious area of the street.
According to the locals, Ba Che market was previously located along the river next to the fishermen's marina. In the past, Ba Che River was plentiful with water sources that fishermen could go upstream to bring fish to the market to sell when the tide comes.
Then, in order to ensure favorable conditions for trade, the market was built nearby the banks of Ba Che River and put into use in 2003. Ten years later, it was upgraded to be more spacious. Ba Che Market has 2 floors including 138 kiosks with the total area of around 2,500 square meters. Located in the middle of the bustling street, Ba Che market is the place where various ethnic groups' products are sold.
Ba Che Market was recognized as a provincial tourism attraction in 2016. Currently, a new market is being constructed to make it more convenient and safer for trading activities meanwhile the old one, Ba Che village market, has been kept unchanged but renovated to serve tourism development.
This is an interesting spot for the visitors to learn about daily lives of different ethnic groups in Ba Che district. It is also an ideal attraction to be connected with the other ones in the locality.
