Van Don improves transport services

In recent years, the increasing number of tourists and workers from near and far to Van Don District has brought about increasing demand in transport services. To better meet local people and tourists’ demand of travelling, the locality has worked closely with Quang Ninh Department of Transportation and relevant units to manage vehicles and require enterprises to improve their services, thus ensuring passengers’ convenience and safety.

There are 3 types of passenger transport available in Van Don District, namely by air, by road, and by sea, with hundreds of cars, buses, high-speed boats, and airplanes. As the district witnesses a strong growth and massive demand of travelling, it has a passenger transport capacity of more than 1,500 everyday on average. During summer time, the figure even jumps to 10,000 a day, most of which to island routes in Van Don and Co To to meet visitors’ demand of visits and relaxation.

According to Maritime Administration of Quang Ninh, there are 82 boats granted business operation licenses taking tourists to island communes of Van Don and Co To. The fleet has been upgraded while the quality of services has been improved to serve tourists and local people.

The service of passenger transport by road has also been improved in terms of quality and behavior. There are 210 bus trips departing Cai Rong Bus station every day with a large volume of commodity and passengers.

In addition to busses, taxi companies have paid concern to bettering their quality of services. Taxi cars are painted with regulated colors. They are also required to have signal boxes, publish companies’ phone numbers, company logo, price list…

Thanks to passenger transport companies’ active involvement, Van Don District’s authority has received no complaint from any individual or organization about the quality of services.
