Bordering Dongxing City, China, via the Mong Cai International Border Gate, Mong Cai 1 Ward is well positioned to develop border tourism, cross-border trade and international exchanges. It also serves as a gateway for tourists travelling between Vietnam and China, while linking borderland exploration with other destinations across Quang Ninh. Since the beginning of the year, more than 900,000 passenger crossings have been recorded at Mong Cai International Border Gate. The locality’s appeal also stems from well-known destinations such as Tra Co Beach, Sa Vi Cape, Tra Co Mangrove Forest and the Binh Ngoc area. It is also home to a diverse range of historical sites and religious landmarks, including Tra Co Communal House, Nam Tho Pagoda and Mong Cai Church, as well as other sites associated with local history. Together, these assets provide a foundation for developing cultural and spiritual tourism.
