Constructed on the site of the former Provincial Boarding School for Ethnic Minorities, the new Trong Diem secondary school was completed after more than a year of construction. With a total investment of nearly VND 160 billion (approximately USD 6.3 million), the school covers 1.5 hectares and features 45 classrooms, accommodating up to 2,000 students.

Key facilities include a five-story administrative building, two four-story classroom blocks, a multi-purpose hall with a basement, and a modern library converted from the former practice building. The project not only stands out as an architectural highlight but also meets the full criteria of a high-quality school, serving as an effective educational hub for students across the province.

Speaking at the ceremony, Permanent Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Council Vi Ngoc Bich affirmed that education and training are always a top national priority. Upholding this spirit, Quang Ninh has consistently placed education at the heart of its development strategy, mobilizing resources to build a modern, comprehensive education system aligned with digital transformation.

Delegates took a commemorative photo with the teachers and students of Trong Diem secondary school.

“The goal is to train high-quality human resources, meet the demands of rapid and sustainable development, and realize the province’s vision of becoming a modern service-industrial hub, an international tourism center, and a dynamic growth pole in northern Vietnam”, she underlined.

Notably, Resolution No. 99 issued by the Provincial People’s Council on May 31, 2022, allocated nearly VND 2 trillion to support localities in building and upgrading infrastructure and equipment for public schools, with the aim that by 2025, 92.07% of schools in the province will meet national standards, an increase of 2.07% over the initial target.

The completion and inauguration of Trong Diem secondary school ahead of the 2025-2026 academic year not only addresses the needs of teaching and learning but also underscores Quang Ninh’s strategic vision for education, laying a solid foundation for future generations of high-quality human resources.

In order too maximize the value of the investment, Ms. Vi Ngoc Bich requested that the project owner and relevant agencies expedite the handover, asset management, and final settlement procedures while ensuring effective operation and maintenance.
