On August 19, in the jubilant spirit of nationwide celebrations marking the 80th Anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2), Quang Ninh province inaugurated the new Headquarters of Quang Ninh Newspaper and Radio & Television.

The building draws its inspiration from the breathtaking beauty of Ha Long bay. Its design combines shades of gray, white, and blue in harmony, with architectural forms reminiscent of limestone peaks rising above the waves.

Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Van Hoi, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee and Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee, along with representatives of the investor, contractors, and the agency itself.

Located in Ha Long ward, the project launched in September 2023 represents a provincial budget investment of nearly VND 800 billion. The 19-storey building, with one basement level and a total usable area of almost 19,000 m², integrates office space, specialized production zones, film sets, studios, technical facilities, and shared service areas.

Drawing inspiration from the natural beauty of Ha Long bay, the building’s design features gray, white, and blue tones evoking limestone peaks rising above the waves. Its bold yet elegant architecture reflects the strength, resilience, and hospitality of the people of Quang Ninh. Its open-plan layouts maximize utility and comfort while ensuring modern aesthetics and energy efficiency.

Mr. Nguyen Van Hoi, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee and Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee, presented flowers to congratulate Quang Ninh Newspaper and Radio & Television.

A key highlight is the inclusion of eight modern studios, enabling production of news, foreign-language and ethnic-language broadcasts, virtual studios, talk shows, and entertainment programs. Rooftop dining areas and a canteen provide space for staff connection, while landscaped surroundings enhance the building’s role as a striking new landmark in the province’s urban center.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Hanh underlined that Quang Ninh has been a pioneer in modernizing its media model, adopting a multi-platform converged newsroom aligned with international standards. This transformation has already yielded numerous high-quality works and set new directions for local journalism. The new headquarters, she stressed, marks a milestone in digital transformation and media modernization, while serving as vital infrastructure for information, public communication, and external affairs.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hanh, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Committee, delivered a speech at the inauguration ceremony.

On behalf of the agency, Director and Editor-in-Chief, Nguyen The Lam, expressed gratitude for the strong support of the provincial leadership and people. He affirmed that the new facility will empower journalists to create impactful content, produce high-quality programs, and promote Quang Ninh’s image to the world. More than a workplace, the headquarters is envisioned as a public cultural hub, engaging the community in creative activities and contributing to the province’s cultural and creative industries.

He also called for continued investment in surrounding urban planning and parking facilities to better serve residents and visitors attending media events and programs.
