Quang Ninh responds to the national walking campaign
"Marching forward with Vietnam" is a large-scale, unprecedented community initiative taking place at a pivotal moment as the nation embarks on a new stage of development alongside the administrative reorganization of localities.
The campaign, jointly organised by Nhan dan (People) newspaper and the Ministry of Public Security, commemorates the 80th anniversaries of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945-2025), National Day (September 2), and the Traditional Day of the People’s Public Security Force (August 19).
From July 25 to August 16, 2025, people across the country can register online via the official portal: cungvietnamtienbuoc.nhandan.vn and begin logging their steps in contribution to the journey carrying the message "One billion steps into a new era", a meaningful activity that embodies patriotism, reduces carbon emissions, and supports the national goal of Net Zero.
A highlight of the campaign will unfold from 6:00am to 7:30am on August 16 when participants nationwide will gather at Ba Dinh Square in Ha Noi wearing red shirts with yellow stars for a ceremonial flag-raising ceremony, to sing the national anthem, and to show solidarity for a resilient and sustainable Viet Nam.

Beyond fitness, the campaign embodies a national movement inspired by President Ho Chi Minh’s call for physical self-improvement.
Every logged step becomes a “green step” - a small but symbolic act of reducing carbon emissions and promoting environmental responsibility in alignment with national climate goals.
In Quang Ninh, the program will be held simultaneously with other localities nationwide from 6:00 to 7:30 a.m. on August 16, 2025. The provincial-level event will take place at 30/10 Square (Ha Long ward), expecting 5,000-6,000 participants, including officials, civil servants, employees from provincial agencies and organizations, armed forces, students, and local businesses.
The walk will cover approximately 2.5 km, starting from 30/10 Square along Tran Quoc Nghien Street to the Royal Hotel near Hon Gai Beach.
