Quang Ninh has long regarded tourism as a key pillar of its economic growth, prioritizing investment and innovation to maintain its position as one of Vietnam’s leading destinations.

In order to sustain strong growth momentum, the province is diversifying promotional efforts, expanding both domestic and international markets, and moving toward developing tourism year-round.

The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has recently rolled out a series of promotional campaigns, notably a major event in Hanoi connecting Quang Ninh’s tourism offerings with around 150 domestic tourism associations, travel agencies, tour operators, and media outlets. The program presented a fresh perspective on Quang Ninh as a destination of many new facets, from upgraded transport infrastructure and modern tourism facilities to a professional, friendly, and service-minded workforce.

A variety of new and distinctive tourism products were showcased, tailored to the growing expectations of both domestic and international travelers. Highlights included the real-life performance “In search of the jade seal” at Vung Duc cave, a Ha Long Bay night cruise street, sightseeing tours of Bai Tu Long Bay, uninhabited island explorations, hot-air balloon rides in Tuan Chau; and spectacular firework shows in Bai Chay.

Nguyen Quang Son, Deputy General Director of APC Group, praised the proactive role of Quang Ninh’s government in forging partnerships and creating favorable conditions for local tourism businesses to expand their reach. The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has served as a vital “bridge” connecting Quang Ninh’s tourism enterprises with tour operators, making it easier to integrate new products into travel itineraries.

Alongside its ties with tour operators, the tourism sector is targeting corporate clients such as PetroVietnam, Vietnam Electricity, and the Vietnam National Coal and Mineral Industries Group. With their large workforces and frequent needs for conferences, partner meetings, and employee benefit programs, these organizations are a natural fit for Quang Ninh’s modern infrastructure and its growing reputation as a MICE tourism hub.

Beyond the domestic market, Quang Ninh is stepping up its international outreach, aiming to establish itself as a four-season destination. In late July, the province hosted a tourism promotion event in South Korea, attended by representatives from the Vietnamese Embassy in Seoul and 150 leaders from Korean travel agencies and media. Popular offerings for the Korean market included luxury beach and island resorts, golf tourism, cultural immersion, wellness retreats, and beauty services which are supported by ongoing investments in premium infrastructure and services.

Since early 2025, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has represented Quang Ninh at numerous international and regional events, from a film promotion program in France to an exhibition at the World EXPO in Osaka, Japan, tourism promotions in South Korea, Japan, the Philippines, and China, and domestic events in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Meetings with travel partners from Korea, Japan, Taiwan, China, and the Middle East have further expanded Quang Ninh’s network.

Cruise tourism has also seen encouraging growth, with 33 cruise ship calls bringing 47,000 passengers in the first six months of 2025, showing a 25% increase year-on-year. Provincial leaders have actively engaged with cruise lines and tour companies to enhance destination offerings.

According to Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Nguyen Thuy Yen, the province will continue to work alongside businesses to connect with travel partners at home and abroad, broaden networks, and promote its unique tourism products and new policy initiatives.

The department plans to welcome more famtrip and presstrip delegations to showcase Quang Ninh’s attractions, while tailoring promotional campaigns for each target market through media channels and social platforms.

In close coordination with the Quang Ninh Tourism Association and local enterprises, the province is also developing seasonal tourism stimulus programs to attract visitors during off-peak periods. Special emphasis will be placed on promoting the Yen Tu Relic and Scenic Complex, a spiritual and cultural treasure, as a must-visit destination.
