Cultural sub-committee of Viet Nam’s UNESCO Committee organized the first session of 2016 in Ha Noi on June 30. Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Dang Thi Bich Lien attended.
According to Decision, Deputy Minister Dang Thi Bich Lien keeps a role as head of the sub-committee, the standing board as Ms. Nguyen Phuong Hoa, vice-head of International Cooperation Department as well as 19 other members. The Help Board comprises 2 members.
The meeting made a report of 6 months in early 2016 and plan of 6 months in late 2016. Accordingly, the sub-committee implemented Convention 1972 on world cultural and natural heritage; Convention 2003 on intangible cultural heritage protection; Convention 1970 on some measures of businees and import-export to some cultural property; Convention 2005 on protection, promotion and maintenance of cultural diversity.
The sub-committee fulfilled Draft to Regulation on world cultural and natural protection and management in Viet Nam; prepared for participating into the 40th session of World Heritage Committee in Turkey on July; built Document of Then singing of Tay, Nung, Thai ethnic group in Viet Nam for recognizing intangible cultural heritage of humaniry and associated with the representative office of the UNESCO in Viet Nam for organizing the dialogue of moral regulation in intangible cultural hertage protection.
At the session, some members contributed into some activities of the sub-committee in the up-coming time as follows: Building the expert group to help the sub-committee; inspecting some fields of the sub-committee and positively participating into some activiites of the UNESCO.
Deputy Minister Dang Thi Bich Lien said that the sub-committee was considered as a positive member of the Viet Nam’s UNESCO Committee in the past times. Deputy Minister proposed that the sub-committee should receive, fulfill document; supplement a working regulation of the sub-committee; establish list of the expert group and plans to train human resources of the sub-committee.
