To implement “Anti plastic waste” campaign launched by Quang Ninh province, tourism enterprises operating on Ha Long Bay stopped the use of nilon bags and single-use plastic products and replaced them with recycled, reusable and environmental friendly products from Sept 1st.
In August, the campaign received good response from those enterprises and they even encouraged tourists to use their own water bottles, provide free water in paper and glass cups, replaced nilon bags and plastic straws with paper bags and paper straws. They also collected and classified waste then brought them onshore for treatment. To ensure the efficiency of the campaign, Ha Long Bay Management Board will set up interdisciplinary teams this month to supervise the implementation.
