Not only relying on the fire prevention and fighting police forces, the captains and crew members of tourist boats operating on Ha Long Bay play important role in determining the safety of the boats. That is the reason why the model of “Safe self-managed tourist boats ensuring fire prevention and fighting” was implemented and multiplied.
Launched in March, 2019, the above mentioned model was piloted at 4 tourist boat businesses which transporting tourists to visit Ha Long Bay, including Bien Ngoc Co. Ltd., Bhaya Yacht Co. Ltd., Tuan Chau five –star Yacht JSC and Dong Duong Yacht JSC.
As one of the four pioneering enterprises registering to participate in the model, the Tuan Chau five -star Yacht JSC has built its own regulations for the operation of boat system managed by the company, clearly defining the role and responsibilities of each staff member on the boat, especially the captain.
After nearly 7 months of implementation, the model has seen effectiveness and received great support of tourist transport businesses operating on the sea and has been a good basis to be multiplied in coming time.
Major Vuong Duc Tho, Deputy Head of the PC07 Division under Quang Ninh Provincial Public Security Department said that, the fire prevention and fighting police forces have always paid much concern to propaganda work and training so that each sailor and crew could easily deal with incidents. The inspection has been regularly maintained by the division in accordance with the provisions, ensuring the close supervision to the business activities.
In order to effectively minimize damages caused by fire and explosion, the division asked businesses to completely eliminate the old and expired fire extinguishers and install lightning protection systems in accordance with regulations. In future, the model of “Safe self-managed tourist boats ensuring fire prevention and fighting” will be implemented by all 505 tourist boats operating on the bay, deserving a safe destination for tourists.
