On July 25 & 26, “Going to the field” festival took place in Phong Coc commune, Quang Yen town.
The festival originated from the customs “Hạ điền” (going to the field ceremony) and “Thượng điền” (harvesting ceremony) of locals in Ha Nam region, showing their gratitude to the gods of agriculture and tutelary, wishing for a bumper crop. Participating in this festival, locals and tourists experienced exciting activities such as rice planting competition, swimming contest, traditional boat racing etc. The festival is considered as a chance to promote local cultural features and boost socio-economic emulation movements in the whole town.
