Quang Ninh to trial 7-day quarantine for people with antibodies to SARS-CoV-2

On July 1, the delegation of the Ministry of Health led by Deputy Prime Minister Do Xuan Tuyen visited some locations in Quang Ninh and had a working session with the provincial People's Committee on preparatory tasks for the trial implementation of 7-day quarantine for fully vaccinated arrivals.

Vice Chairwoman of the Quang Ninh provincial People’s Committe Nguyen Thi Hanh chaired the meeting with the delegation.

According to the Decision 3092/QĐ-BYT issued by the Ministry of Health, Quang Ninh has been selected as the location to pilot a seven-day quarantine policy for foreign arrivals that have been fully vaccinated against Covid-19 starting this July.

The period of centralized medical quarantine lasting 7 days will be applied for those who have received a full dose of Covid-19 vaccine, or have already recovered from Covid-19. They also have to possess negative RT-PCR test results for SARS-CoV-2 and positive anti-SARS-CoV-2 antibody tests on the first day after their entry.

After 7 days of centralized quarantine, these people will need to self-isolate at their residence or home for another 7 days and have their health monitored for the next 14 days.

In addition, arrivals have received the full dose of vaccine or recovered from Covid-19 will be arranged in a separate area in the isolation zone.

The categories of arrivals allowed in this pilot programme are foreign experts, business executives, highly skilled workers (grouped under the term ‘experts’) along with their relatives, foreign students, athletes, diplomatic guests, or people on business trips, etc.

Since the beginning of 2020, Van Don International Airport has welcomed 194 flights from other countries to Vietnam, with a total number of 40,674 passengers including 13,604 foreigners and 27,070 Vietnamese ones.

Van Don International Airport has already established comprehensive Covid-19 prevention plans in line with the guidance of the Ministry of Health.
