Quang Ninh targets to welcome over 1.4 million international tourist arrivals in 2022
Quang Ninh province strives to greet a total of 9.53 million tourist arrivals in 2022, including 1.43 million international ones and earn a total revenue of VND 19 trillion.
In 2021, Quang Ninh's tourism sector aimed to receive a total of 4.48 million tourist arrivals and a total revenue of 9,045 billion VND. However, the actual number only accounted for 97% of the plan and the total revenue was equal to 85% of the target.
It is anticipated that the Covid-19 pandemic will continue to be complicated and unpredictable in 2022, directly affecting tourism activities, but Quang Ninh tourism industry has set a target to receive over 9.5 million visitors including 1.43 million international visitors.
Quang Ninh is among five localities nationwide proposed to welcome international visitors under the pilot program in 2022 by the National Administration of Tourism. The province, therefore, has implemented the project of labelling safe tourist facilities at 473 service and tourism establishments. The list of safe tourist facilities is supposed to be widely publicized for citizens and visitors.
The provincial Department of Tourism has also adjusted 35 criteria for safety assessment. Notably, it requires tourism businesses to measure their travellers, guests and passengers’ body temperature. They also have to provide tourists and customers with face masks when neccessary and are encouraged to install partitions at dining tables.
Travel service providers have currently cooperated to build high-quality products within self-contained tours. Especially, a system of international standard golf courses in Quang Ninh has acted as a distinct advantage for the province to attract the return of international visitors, especially those from markets such as the US, Japan, and South Korea with high demands for golf tourism
According to Quang Ninh Department of Tourism, the model of overnight ships on Ha Long Bay and the model of welcoming guests to get relaxed at the international tourist area of Tuan Chau, the Complex of Yen Tu Monuments and Landscapes, Ha Long Bay, Mong Cai - Tra Co tourist area are ready to welcome international visitors who will travel in separated routes in isolated space. Tourist staff will also be arranged in separate areas to minimize contact with the community after serving guests.
All businesses and establishments allowed to welcome international tourists must fully satisfy a high vaccination rate, good disease response capacity, and high-end products.
Quang Ninh also determines to focus on potential markets such as China, Korea, Japan, Taiwan (China), ASEAN markets (Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, etc.). Tourists from countries that allow citizens to go abroad with high safety in terms of Covid-19 prevention and control in some regions such as Europe, the United States, the Middle East, and Australia will be accepted due to their actual situation.
