Quang Ninh sends additional 70 health workers to support HCMC in Covid-19 fight

70 doctors and other health workers this morning left Quang Ninh for Ho Chi Minh city to support the city’s combat against the ongoing Covid-19 outbreak. Prominent among those at the departure ceremony was Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee cum Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Council, Trinh Thi Minh Thanh.

Previously, a delegation of 75 health workers volunteered to HCMC in July when the serious outbreak started in this city. They has successfully accomplished their tasks despite a range of difficulties and dangers. It is estimated that more than 3,200 Covid-19 patients have been treated by Quang Ninh doctors and health workers, over 2,500 patients have so far been cured and discharged from the hospital, making a significant contribution of Quang Ninh province to Ho Chi Minh city’s fight against the pandemic.

In order to continue supporting HCMC in this fight as well as ensure the health of the previous medical delegation in the context of complicated and unpredictable developments of the Covid-19 pandemic, Quang Ninh has sent 70 health workers who are experienced in solving problems related to Covid-19 fight to the Field Hospital No.12 at Thu Duc district in HCMC.

This is the 7th time Quang Ninh province has sent health workers to Covid-19 affected localities in support of their combat against Covid-19.

At the ceremony, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee cum Standing Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People’s Council, Trinh Thi Minh Thanh, the highly appreciated the strong determination spirit of the delegation as well as the five previous ones who have been ready to devote their competence and energy to the fight against the serious pandemic.

She encouraged the team to successfully fullfil their tasks and actively contribute to the combat against Covid-19 in Hanoi city.

Having gone through 85 days without any new cases detected within the community, Quang Ninh has taken great efforts to effectively halt the skyrocket transmission of Covid-19 and maintain safety for local community through harsh waves of Covid-19 and its outbreak in the majority of cities and provinces nationwide.

The province has so far sent over 900 health workers to help Covid-19 hotspots across the country. With the long-lasting traddition “Discipline and solidarity”, Quang Ninh - based doctors, nurses and medical students have done their utmost to bring safety back to residents and society.
