King Philippe of Belgium visits Quang Ninh
On April 2, King Philippe of Belgium and Queen Mathilde, accompanied by a high-level delegation, visited Quang Ninh as part of their official visit to Vietnam.
They were warmly received by Secretary of the Quang Ninh Provincial Party’s Committee, Vu Dai Thang, who hosted cordial reception for the delegation.
Quang Ninh was one of the key stops on the royal couple’s itinerary, alongside official receptions in Hanoi with Vietnamese Party and State leaders. Their visit underscores the province’s rising prominence and strategic importance. The presence of numerous representatives from Belgium’s leading corporations and businesses further highlights Quang Ninh’s appeal as an investment destination for Belgian and European enterprises.

Welcoming the King, Queen, and their delegation, Party Secretary Vu Dai Thang emphasized the visit’s significance in strengthening ties between Quang Ninh and its Belgian partners. He described it as a valuable opportunity to deepen and expand bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors.
During the reception, the Secretary introduced Quang Ninh’s economic strengths, key industries, and recent development achievements. He reaffirmed the province’s commitment to fostering long-term, meaningful partnerships with Belgian localities and enterprises, particularly in areas where Belgium excels. These include advanced manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, automobile production, high-tech industrial zones, and industrial park infrastructure. Other priority fields for collaboration include port development, logistics services, renewable energy, digital transformation, innovation, sustainable economic models, high-tech agriculture, tourism, and education.

Looking ahead, the Secretary expressed his hope for continued support from the Belgian Government and relevant agencies in strengthening business connections and encouraging Belgian investment in Quang Ninh. He expressed confidence that, given the strong Vietnam-Belgium partnership and the complementary strengths of both sides, cooperation between Quang Ninh and Belgian partners would continue to flourish, delivering mutual benefits.
King Philippe commended Quang Ninh’s impressive socio-economic progress and recognized its vast potential as a key destination for European and Belgian investment. He highly appreciated the province’s proposals and reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening business ties between Belgium and Vietnam, particularly in Quang Ninh.
The King pledged to facilitate connections between Belgian enterprises and Quang Ninh, especially in logistics and seaport development, to create new opportunities for investment and cooperation.
