Quang Ninh prioritizes innovative startups
On September 10, the 7th National Innovation and Startup Forum - Quang Ninh 2025 was jointly organzied by the Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee, in partnership with the National Startup Association at the Royal Ha Long Hotel in Bai Chay ward.
The event is part of efforts to implement Politburo Resolutions No. 57-NQ/TW (December 22, 2024) and No. 68-NQ/TW (May 4, 2025), as well as Government and provincial plans to accelerate breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation.
Opening the forum’s key session, the Quang Ninh Innovation and Startup Summit under the theme “Mobilizing global resources to build a local innovation and startup ecosystem in the digital economy era”, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, Vu Van Dien, stressed that innovative entrepreneurship is “not merely a movement, but a new growth driver tied to digital transformation, global value chains, and green growth.”
As one of the national leaders in GRDP growth, budget revenue, tourism, and administrative reform, Quang Ninh offers a favorable environment for businesses and startups. This year’s forum conveyed three core messages namely mobilizing resources from government, businesses, scientists, and investors, accelerating innovation to turn knowledge into products and markets, and inspiring young entrepreneurs to think globally and act locally.
Quang Ninh committed to further refining policies, expanding spaces for technology pilots, and supporting startups with funding, legal advisory, expert connections, and investor networks, contributing to national goals on innovation and the digital economy.
Deputy Minister of Science and Technology Hoang Minh praised Quang Ninh’s proactive role in building its startup ecosystem. He emphasized that technologies such as AI, IoT, and blockchain are reshaping industries worldwide while opening new avenues for creativity and growth.
At the same time, trends in green economy, circular economy, and sustainability are becoming global priorities, with Vietnam’s Party and Government already introducing favorable policies to foster breakthrough innovation in the digital age.
He also urged ministries and localities to implement national resolutions effectively, strengthen resource linkages, establish innovation centers, and build mentor–investor networks to provide a strong foundation for Vietnam’s startup community.
During the panel discussion on “Mobilizing global resources to build local innovation and startup ecosystems in the digital economy era,” delegates shared insights on global startup trends, AI applications, e-commerce, and digital transformation, while exploring solutions to attract and leverage international resources.
As part of the forum, Quang Ninh launched the initiative “Innovation-driven entrepreneurship in Quang Ninh to 2030” with the message “10,000 enterprises and publications on business and innovation.” Cooperation agreements were signed to advance startup activities, while outstanding organizations, businesses, and individuals were honored for their contributions.
On the sidelines, participants joined training sessions on “Innovation and startup - A new mindset for the digital era” and explored exhibitions featuring technology applications, startup products, investment promotion, and Quang Ninh’s signature OCOP goods.
