Over the last time, libraries in Quang Ninh have undergone changes with new and innovative methods to attracting more readers, thus promoting reading culture.
Taking the advantage of favorable location and impressive architecture, Quang Ninh Provincial Library has turned itself into an ideal space for experiencing, relaxing, and reading books. People go to Quang Ninh Provincial Library not only for reading books but also for having a cup of tea while admiring Ha Long Bay, enjoying entertainment activities and joining, fun competitions… Many people just visit the library as they look for a quite place, being away from hustle and bustle life.
Such above-mentioned factors have helped Quang Ninh Library attract the largest number of readers ever. It welcomed nearly 10,000 arrivals in the 8 months of 2019. More than half of them are regular readers. During summer, it received 500-1,000 arrivals a day. Readers consist of not only pupils, students and researchers as before but also public servants, businessmen, tourists of all ages.
To have a such efficient operation, Quang Ninh Provincial Library must ensure basic requirements, such as a large number of books which are suitable with readers’ taste, easy administrative procedures, IT application in e-library and e-library cards…In the 6 months of 2019, the library added nearly 4,000 books to its stock, 25,000 e-pages, and rented the right of access to more than 1.5 million documents and press publications…
Libraries in Quang Ninh are now available in 100% of localities at district level, 80% at communal level, 80% of schools and 50% of enterprises, meeting reading demand of local people and developing reading culture.
