Chairman of Quang Ninh Nguyen Duc Long extended greetings and conveyed his best wishes to doctors, pharmacists and medical staff members of the Quang Ninh Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital on the occasion of the Vietnamese Doctors’ Day (February 27).
He said that along with focusing on the economic growth, Quang Ninh always attaches much importance to the social welfare activities, including health care services for the people.
As many as provincial hopsitals have been built; the quality of the doctors has been much improved in the recent years.
The Chairman also emphasized on the significant role of Quang Ninh Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital, which has helped rasie the quality of the health care services since its operation.
The province’s leader committed that the medical infrastructure system will continue to be improved in an effort to better care for people’s health. He also stressed the need to develop Quang Ninh Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital as a hi-quality health care service center in order to better serve people provincewide and the ones in the whole Northern region of Vietnam.
| Covering an area of 31.500 m2 square metres at Dai Yen Ward, Ha Long city, construction of the Quang Ninh Obstetrics and Pediatrics Hospital began in December 2010 with a total investment of nearly VND540 billion (US$25 million). The hospital can accommodate 200 beds with 12 faculties and professional divisions and is equipped with state of the art medical equipment. After its first month of operation (since August, 2014), the hospital has provided check-ups and treatments for more than 2,000 patients, including many complicated cases. Currently, the hospital has 108 doctors, 18 pharmacists, and over 100 nurses, midwives, and technicians, who are qualified and experienced in the field of obstetrics and pediatrics. |
