Quang Ninh Library is not only an open, creative and modern reading space but also an exciting playground and an enjoyable place for readers to experience activities.
At Quang Ninh Library, the reading room attracts a lot of children. Trinh Linh Chi, a 5th grade pupil at Tran Hung Dao Elementary School in Ha Long City said “I spend most of my summer holiday in the library. Apart from time in school as we are going to start new school year very soon, the library is like my second home”.
Recreational room is also an exciting venue for young readers during summer. There are not only books but also interesting activities and games which encourage thinking, creativeness and aesthetics, like drawing, painting, creating paper handicraft products, forming shapes from clay…
Quang Ninh Library is now open to anyone who wishes to visit, take part in its programs or read books for a day or even an hour instead of obligatory one-year library cards as it used to be.
Notably, summer programs for readers have been renewed. During the 3 month summer, Quang Ninh Library organizes a variety of meaningful activities like an English story telling competition, exploring the world in books, a photo contest themed “Impressive Reading Space”, competing with AI, drawing competition “Family in my eyes”…
Interesting activities help attracting a large number of people to Quang Ninh Library. This summer alone, the library receives 500 reader arrivals a day on average, two times higher than the same period last year.
Besides, Quang Ninh Library works with English centers, life skill training centers, kindergartens, Ha Long Municipal Youth Union, media agencies…to invite children to the library, thus creating a new generation of readers and fulfilling the target of improving reading culture as well as building and developing learning society.
