On Mar 31, the Prime Minister issued Directive No.16/CT-TTg on implementing urgent measures against Covid 19 prevention and control concerning social distancing for 15 days, starting April 1. Facing new requirements in the pandemic prevention and control, the Department of Industry and Trade directed goods production and trading units, trade centers and supermarkets to proactively reserve goods for people.
Currently, at trade centers and supermarkets, trading activities are normal without shortage of goods or price hike. Units have strengthened online shoping and home deliver services, offering essential products to serve people’s demand. This is considered as a useful measure to restrict people leaving their homes and control Covid-19 pandemic spread. According to statistics of the Department of Industry and Trade, to date, the total value of reserved goods of trade centers and supermarkets is about 175 bil VND. In the context of complicated development, this figure will be up 310 bil.VND to ensure adequate supply of goods for market.
