In order to adapt to digital age, increase the number of readers and improve the efficiency of reading culture, Quang Ninh Library has recently enhanced the operation of e-library, which is considered as the library’s initiative step in integration as it has good infrastructure to serve on-site readers.
Quang Ninh Library has increased its source of digital documents to diversify and raise the rate of digital document among the library’s total documents; given priority to digitalizing monographic documents on Quang Ninh; invested in library management softwares and apps providing information service meeting readers’ demand of reference searching… Accordingly, 40 computers are available in the multi-functional room at the library to serve login.
Quang Ninh Library also expands its connection and shares information with similar establishments and sites, especially with tailieu.vn, the largest information sharing website in Vietnam, and 82 e-libraries of universities and colleges nationwide. Besides, it enhances the capacity of exploiting e-library via advertising its digital source at local schools, organizations, enterprises…
Quang Ninh Library has digitalized 100,000 monographic documents on Quang Ninh and rented access rights to 1.5 million documents. According to annual reports, the number of readers log in Quang Ninh’s e-library reaches 35,000 visits, an encouraging figure.
