Quang Ninh: 12 artisans honoured for preserving intangible cultural heritages

On April 24, in Ha Long city, Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee held a ceremony to award the title of ‘People’s Artisan’ and ‘Meritorious Artisan’ bestowed by Prime Minister to 12 artisans of Quang Ninh to honour their great contributions to preserving and promoting intangible cultural heritages of Quang Ninh.

This year, Quang Ninh’s artisans who are honoured mainly are involved in intangible heritages such as nha to singing; then singning; dum singing, and traditional costumes of the Quang Ninh’s ethnic minority groups, etc.

Notably, this is the first time that Quang Ninh’s artisans has been honored with the title of Meritorious Artisans of intangible cultural heritages. This is a move to nurture passion, enthusiasm, dedication of talents to preserve and promote the cultural heritage values of the nation.

At the honoring ceremony, Quang Ninh’s Vice Chairwoman Vu Thi Thu Thuy awarded the titles of Meritorious Artisans to the artisans.

Vice Chairwoman Vu Thi Thu Thuy hailed Meritorious Artisans for their contributions to preserving and and promoting the traditional cultural values of Quang Ninh’s ethnic groups. She hoped that they would continue their contribution to enrich the values of folklore transmit those intangible cultural heritages to the young generations.

She also asked relevant sectors and departments to continue paying much concerns with the artisans who were honored and other artisans in the community; and accompany them in preserving and promoting cultural heritages of Quang Ninh.
