In order to prevent Covid-19 from spreading in the community and create the best condition for local people, Ha Long has provided pay-to-stay quarantine service at some hotels in the city. The service receives good response from both quarantined people and accommodation facilities.
Ha Long Post Office Hotel is among accommodations which offer pay-to-stay service to quarantined people. The person who opts for the pay-to-stay service enjoy 3-star accommodation and dinning as well as health supervision as regulated, for example 50% discount on room prices and 70% discount on dinning and other services.
There are five more hotels in the city offering the same service, namely Bach Dang Hotel, Grand Ha Long Hotel, Thai Son Hotel (Bai Chay Ward), Sun Ha Long Hotel, Anh Thu 96 Hotel (Hung Thang Ward). The allocation of quarantined people at these hotels complies with the principle “If this hotel is full, quarantined people will be moved to the next hotel in the list”.
On Mar 23rd, among 500 passengers landed at Van Don Airport, 104 students who returned from Europe chose pay-to-stay quarantine service and they are moved to Grand Ha Long Hotel. Mr. P.H.P (48 years old), returning home from Japan by air, said that pay-to-stay quarantine service met local people’s demand and it is an opportunity for local people to join hands to reduce the burden on state budget.
Earlier, to implement the Official Document No.1721/UBND-DL1 issued by Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee, Ha Long City People’s Committee worked with tourist accommodations in Bai Chay Ward and Hung Thang Ward to reach agreements on suitable places for isolation.
At each hotel, there is an executive group consisting of representatives for Ha Long City People’s Committee, the ward where the hotel is located, hotel manager, medical staff, local police and militia, and relevant units, ensuring that isolation is conducted as regulated.
Pay-to-stay quarantine service at hotels helps reducing pressure on free-of-charge isolation camps and sharing burden on state budget as well as limiting the risk of infection spread in the community.
