Thanks to potential and strengths, Quang Ninh has effectively developed some kinds of tourism, for example, sea and island tourism, rural tourism, cultural tourism, spiritual tourism…The province is taking the advantage of forests to develop tourism experiences in forest areas.
The first and foremost advantage of forests in Quang Ninh is that they cover a large area with dense coverage, creating a fresh environment which is good for health. The province has maintained a lot of forests thanks to forest protection programs
Quang Ninh’s forests embrace a world of vivid flora and fauna, a wide range of mountains, waterfalls, and caves, and relics both on the ground and underground of the forest land, which become the values of natural landscape, culture and history. Most of beautiful forests remain untouched, which is considered to develop forest tourism.
Those can be listed as Pine Forest along the border line, special-use forests along national highways, 100 year-old ironwood in Ha Long City, Yen Tu national forest, Dong Son - Ky Thuong natural preservation forest, Bai Tu Long national park, Dong Rui mangrove forest….
Tourism activities at Yen Tu national forest, Bai Tu Long national park, or Dong Rui mangrove forest are just experiencing different activities, for instance, taking a walk in the forest, admiring precious trees, and discovering small creature’s activities…
With the orientation of connecting sea tourism and forest tourism and linkingthe world heritage site – Ha Long Bay – with forests in Dong Son – Ky Thuong, Dong Son – Ky Thuong forest is on the threshold of new development breakthroughs. The most highlight in Vingroup’s proposal of developing Dong Son – Ky Thuong forest lies in Safari and nature preservation project covering an area of more than 1,100 ha with an open and semi-wild zoo which is home to a large number and types of forest animals.
However, this is a special kind of tourism so it is very important to pay attention to forest development in association with forest protection.
