Nam Mau Coal Company: Youth Union fabricates mobile disinfection chambers

With the aim of protecting laborers’ safety amid Covid-19 pandemic, young engineers working at Nam Mau Coal Company succeeded in fabricating full-body disinfection chambers after just two days of research.

The small-sized chamber, using ionized salt water, has 360-degree fog mist sprayer and an infrared sensor that automatically activates the spraying when a person steps in. It takes one 30 seconds to complete a round of full-body disinfection, ensuring laborers’ safety before entering their work place. Each chamber costs 25 million VND.

Nguyen Van Tuan, Nam Mau Coal Company’s Youth Union Secretary, said “Amid Covid-19 spiral, Nam Mau Company has implemented a number of measures to protect laborers’ safety. We designed, fabricated and put into use two portable full-body disinfection chambers. The success celebrates the 89th anniversary of Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union Mar 26th. It also reflects our determination of accompany with Vietnam’s Government, coal industry, and Quang Ninh province to push back Covid-19 pandemic”

As reported, since the Covid-19 outbreak, Nam Mau Coal Company has proactively undertaken preventive measures against the disease. The company has sprayed disinfectant at offices and coal mines, provided laborers with face masks and sanitizer gel, and checked their body temperature prior to each production shift. Hygiene work has been paid more attention and the quality of meals has been further improved. Propaganda activities on Covid-19 prevention and control among laborers are enhanced.

It can be said that the mobile disinfection chambers made by Nam Mau Coal Company’s Youth Union plays an important role in current context, reflecting the company’s spirit of joining hands with the community in the fight against the disease and sense of protecting laborers’ health.
