On the morning of Oct 3rd, Chairman of Quang Ninh Provincial People’s Committee, cum Chairman of the Steering Committee for Administrative Unit Rearrangement in the period of 2019-2021, Nguyen Van Thang, presided over the meeting to review the implementation of administrative unit rearrangement in the province.
Accordingly, Quang Ninh’s Chairman emphasized that the rearrangement of administrative units was the Party and Government’s major policy. With a sense of determination, proactiveness, and responsibility, Quang Ninh Standing Party’s Committee and the Party Committee of the Provincial People’s Committee organized meetings to carefully discuss, consider the issue and promulgated a number of documents giving guidance on the implementation of administrative unit rearrangement in the period of 2019-2021.
After the meeting, Quang Ninh’s Department of Home Affairs proposed provincial leader to assigns specific tasks and responsibilities of each member in the Steering Committee for Administrative Unit Rearrangement. The process of rearranging 9 administrative units at communal level is required not later than the merger of Hoanh Bo District into Ha Long City. The province will submit a report to the Ministry of Home Affairs for assessment prior to Oct. 25th then to the Government. The Department of Construction will be in charge of consult content regarding urban criteria when merging Hoanh Bo District into Ha Long City.
