Health ministry confirms 4,802 new COVID-19 cases
The Ministry of Health reported 4,802 new infections on Wednesday morning, bringing the national patient tally to 232,937.
The latest patients include ten imported ones.
All others are domestic infections recorded in 21 localities namely HCMC (2,128), Binh Duong (936), Long An (515), Dong Nai (428), Tay Ninh (263), Tien Giang (177), Ba Ria-Vung Tau (102), Vinh Long (63), Khanh Hoa (41), Phu Yen (33), Binh Thuan (27), Son La (19), Dong Thap (15), Kien Giang (12), Binh Dinh (ten), Quang Ngai (nine), Ha Tinh (seven), Ha Noi (three), Nghe An (two), Nam Dinh (one), and Lang Son (one). Of these, 1,135 cases are unlinked with previous ones.
Among the national patient tally, 230,560 are locally-transmitted cases, including 228,990 documented in 62 cities and provinces since April 27 when the fourth wave of COVID-19 resurgence erupted.
Two out of the above localities have gone 14 days without community infection, namely Quang Ninh and Bac Kan.
The total recoveries were 80.348.
Among the current positive cases, 491 patients have been warded in the intensive care units, of these 20 are in critical conditions.
As of early August 11, 11,341.864 vaccine doses were administered, with 1,036,102 people fully vaccinated.
