The stunning view and special historical values of pagodas and temples lying along the riverside become a magnet to any visitors to Quang Ha town, Hai Ha district.
About 120 kilometers away from Ha Long city, Quang Ha town is renowned for not merely exquisite natural landscapes but also cultural diveristy. Tourists must be impressed by the picturesque views of undulating hills covered with green tea plants, peaceful rivers with boats passing by, and pagodas and temples with sacred architecture.
The first religious attraction is Tran Hung Dao temple which was recognized as a provincial relic in 2002. The temple worshipping national heroes is built on the river bank and looks towards the mouth of Ha Coi river, implying that these heroes always protect this land, the mouth of river and sea, and local people. The temple has traditional architecture including the front line and harem.
The festival of Tran Hung Dao temple is annually held from 15th to 20th day of the 8th month of lunar calendar.
The next one is Hai Ha pagoda lying quite close to Tran Hung Dao temple. The pagoda was built in 2011 with gorgeous architecture. As a cultural venue of local people, the pagoda hosts a variety of traditional events such as New Year’s Eve, spring festivals, Buddhist festivals, a candle-lighting ceremony of gratitude, etc.
In addition, Mi Son communal house nearby worships five kings who have long been considered the Tutelary Gods, or the guardians of the village.
With a convenient location near the district center, next to the mouth of the Ha Coi River and charming scenery, the cluster of temple and pagoda relics has emerged as an appealing attraction for tourists to Hai Ha.
