Ha Long launches Humanitarian Month 2019

The Humanitarian Month 2019 was launched at a ceremony held on April 24 by the Ha Long’s Red Cross Society.

It will run until May 31 with peak dates from May 8 (International Red Cross and Red Crescent Day) to May 19 (birthday of President Ho Chi Minh, the first Honorary President of the Vietnam Red Cross Society).

The program is aimed at further enhancing public awareness and raising the responsibility of the functional authorities toward humanitarian works. It is also designed to deepen and further spread positive values and traditions of humanity amongst Vietnamese people, contributing to ease poverty and building a community solidarity. This is a good chance for people to show their empathy on the others’ difficulties and help them to overcome troubles in daily life.

At the launching ceremony, The Red Cross Society of Ha Long city received donations with an amount of VND 545 million from businesses, individuals, and other organizations.
